On the hiking trails. I started at Kita-Kamakura, visited several of the temples/shrines there (Kenchoji was my favorite - be sure to climb to the observatory from there, breath-taking view!). Enjoyed the stop to see the statue - was on my way to the Great Buddha!

Might be just a park but Genjiyama Park is one of the places from where you can walk to several different shrines. And the view from the statue esplanade is great.

Stopped by to the the interesting Minamoto no Yoritomo statue on our way hiking past the park. Kamakura has so much to see that I would save your strength for other temples and shrines, especially in the heat of the summer.

you can take a nature walk and have a picnic. Locals go as well as tourists. not recommended on a rainy day.

I’ve heard that it looks great in autumn, but I went in summer so I can’t say much about that. Nothing too special but it’s a good idea to stop for a moment if you’re passing through the Daibutsu hiking course. Nice in the morning when there are no people, only the sound of crows to listen to.
