A scenic walk from the road, with many interesting statues of Buddha's followers. A slight walk uphill and over a beautiful red bridge takes you to the main temple complex, which is still active and trains up monks even this day in one of the Zen Buddhist traditions. During the nice walk from the parking lot, you will be accompanied by a myriad of Jizos (small Bodhisattvas). The size and simple beauty of the temple will surprise you. A lot of things to see here. It is in lovely tranquil surroundings. Good leisurely walk around the grounds is peaceful and invigorating. There is a good guide map in English to assist.
