Wonderful vantage point to observe departing planes from Reagan. Whether for photography or just an interesting location for a picnic, it's worth checking out.

If you want to sit on the grass immediately below commercial jets taking off or landing this is the place to be. And the best way to get there is by bicycle as the Mt. Vernon Trail goes right past it.

Yes it does get crowded for July Fourth. Note you can only access the parking lot when traveling north on GW parkway. Often the field when people usually picnic or play games is packed with cars and trucks. Technically you... More
