Serving in the Army was never like this. These soldiers are the best in the Army! Dedication above and beyond. Thank you to the Military Horsemen who serve the families of the fallen. Mad respect!

Some of the best musicians in the world are stationed here and the government won't even fix the ceiling over their stage. The bands have to play on the floor in front of the stage. Due to traffic we were late getting to the main...More

This was a planned appointment, but I believe you can stop in any time? If not, check out an open house. It's a hive of activity all hours of the day, but we were welcomed and shown around by a couple young Sgt's who were...More

Needed to handle some business requiring being on base. Everything was as it should be, and I was in and out in no time.

We attended the US Army Band concert at Conmy Hall at Fort Myer. It was outstanding. Happily, it was televised and remains available. The whole base is a fascinating place. Sure, security is obviously very tight and patience is needed to get through it, but...More

Ft Myer is a very traditional Army post. The post is smaller than most post but the Old Guard, the soldiers of Arlington Cemetery and the Tomb of the unknown soldiers. I really loved the old buildings and the near the entrance of the cemetery.

The guards at the gate were very courteous and professional in their inspections and questions. I'm proud to have these men serve in our armed forces! The funeral mass at the Old Post Chapel was lovely and in a very beautiful setting.

A small post dedicated to supporting the Old Guard, Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry who provide ceremonial duty in Washington, DC. You'll need a military ID to get on base. There is a nice exchange, gas station and commissary. If you are military, this is...More

Was at Ft. Meyers for some training with the Old Guard and these guys were very accommodating and just fun to be around. They take their job very serious and are the best in the business at the job they do.

If you have a military officer friend, get an invitation to Sunday brunch at the Ft. Meyer Officers Club. It's like stepping back in history to the 1950s and 60s. Base itself is not too interesting except when there is an open house or some...More

I was stationed there also in the 1980's. I just went to the gate, showed my military ID, and had no problem getting in. If you do not have an ID, just ask for a pass at the gate and they can issue you one for the day. I... More

I visited this base a few years ago with a brother-in-law and we were able to tour the horse barns and visit with the 3rd Infantry. I was awed by your base. I am now bringing my own family to DC over spring break. My husband was on the Mpls PD color guard for 25 years and I KNOW he would love to take a tour. Do you allow civilians to take tours of your base?
