Informative

The exhibit is very small, but standing on the ground gives a strong sense of history. Also the day we were there they had an excellent interpreter who took the time to give us an extensive summary of the history.

Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail Site
Oct 2019
This small national park site is a narrow, but long site with a small visitor center, and flat pretty trail following a stream. The entrance road is small and easy to miss if you catch the road sign late. The exhibits inside share the story of settlement in the area and both sides of the revolution war. It's one of the northern starting points of the overmountain trail to kings mountain and cowpens national parks in south carolina. Its a good sight for small kids and strollers

Interesting History Site

We had stopped here before when the building was not open, but the signs and drawings outside were interesting, so this trip we came back when the building was open. The docent had an excellent knowledge of the history of the Revolutionary War actions in the area leading up to the battle of Kings Mountain. I thought it was well worth the hour or so we spent there.

The gentleman that works here is extremely knowledgeable. Take some time to speak with him and you’ll learn a lot. The museum is clean and beautifully presented.

Great historical site

Visited based on prior reviews and this small museum lived up to all expectations! Very informative with an engaging presentation, the exhibit itself was excellent. Our visit was made even better by the staff member (can’t recall her name but we visited on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend), who added great additional tidbits that really helped bring this interesting bit of history alive. We very much enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend checking this site out!

Wonderful

This is an amazing little historical site and a "best kept secret" that should be shouted from the roof tops. The end of the revolutionary war began here at the beginning of the Overmountain Trail to the Battle of Kings Mountain. If you like American History you have to check it out.

Abingdon Muster Grounds
Oct 2018 • Family
This is an area where patriot forces met before walking for almost 3 weeks before meeting the British in the Battle of Kings Mountain. It is part of the "Over the Mountain" trail. About a 5 minute drive outside of Abingdon. A nice small museum, very small parking lot. It won't take long to see it, but if you are interested in Revolutionary War history this is a nice "off the beaten path" place to go.
