Alta has a philosophy that seems to deliberately shun progress (like fancy new fast lifts for example) in an attempt to retain the integrity of the place as a hard-core skier's paradise. There is no thought to even try to compete with the likes of somewhere like Deer Valley or Park City for example. For some this might be a... More

Not a resident but ,I wish I was! There is no finer skiing in this World of White. A gift from Heaven for everyone to savor. I have enjoyed this wonderful life-time vacation for the past consecutive 14 years and am still in awe! The beauty, the powder, the ...... ahhh. Just try it once and you're a prisoner for... More

Skiid 2 days here, conditions were not ideal the first day but got some fresh powder for the second which made an unreal difference. Beautiful resort to ski, tons of greenery even at high altitudes. Great runs for all levels.

Alta has all that a good ski resort should have and one more thing, no snowboards. The terrain is challanging and gives you the 'kick' you are looking for if you like 'powder skiing'. High altitude makes the snow stay powdery for days and there are no icy slopes. In short, it is just excellent.

Best season in 5 years. Great atmosphere, Great snow and great skiing. A truly brilliant place for the person who loves diversity in their ski runs. Family orientated, not pretentious at all. No snow boarders. Great experience!

Alta is the skiier's paradise, if you can only get there. It took 2 hours to get there from downtown the first day and nearly 2 hours back up the windy 2-lane road. The next day we waited in line for 2 1/2 hours before realizing an avalanche was blocking all traffic, closing the road all day. For parking I... More

Beautiful surroundings, great snow and indeed a ski resort like no other. Road could get very crowded during holidays or weekends.
