It is dark, it is basement like, it is long and skinny, and I really liked the place. We decided to hit a jazz club while in Austin, and came to the Elephant Room. Had a couple drinks, listened to the music, and just had...More

We were here twice during our stay in Austin. The first time was on a Monday night and it was pretty quiet – aside from the live music playing. Grabbed a couple spots at the bar for cocktails and enjoyed the music. The second night...More

We really enjoyed this place. Great live music, good drinks, and fun environment. We got there about 15 mins before the show started and got the last open table at the back. Down side of the back we could not really see the show only...More

We were looking for a bar with music and a friendly Texan suggested the Elephant Room. Lucky to hit the last Monday of the month when the Austin Jazz band was there. So much fun..

The Elephant Room is a dark basement, that I could imagine as a former speakeasy from the 1920's. It is small, and has a few tables and chairs. It is difficult to find a table up close to the front of the stage floor, if...More

The Elephant room is a great place to find what has to be the best venue for listing to jazz in the city of Austin. Subterranean Drive, dark, narrow, smell of beer and booze, small stage with some of the best local acts you will...More

We were expecting livelier jazz music. It was more of a speak easy. Low key jazz (no vocals or brass). It was nice if you are looking for somewhere to talk and gather. However we had to go to the bar to get our drinks...More

This is a highly-rated attraction in Austin, so we went one Tuesday evening for the first set and stayed for the main set. The place is in a long basement, with an unfortunate row of pillars down the centre that detracts from the view and...More

I think the age limit is 21. They serve alcohol, and the bouncer was strict about checking ID's at the door when I was there last month.
