I strolled the street all the way through up to the university. There are many shops and local culture. A few photo ops with statues and guitar art displays. It is one of the main roads downtown and the state capitol is also on it.

You have to experience SoCo. Many eclectic shops and restaurants to wander around in. Give yourself a couple of hours to get through it all.

Busy city street. The capitol is at the end. The parking meters were our frustration; they consistently timed out before you completed your action.

After 40 trips to Austin in the last 30 years I can say this my favorite area the last 10 for food and lodging, from food trucks to places that say Come in we're not OPEN. If your into dog and people watching have a seat in front of the Farm to Market Grocery and stop and say hello to Peggy... More

The place is very picturesque. There are plenty of choices for eating and shopping. Parking can be a problem because it's always very crowded.

Park backwards on an angle on either side of South Congress and work your way up one side and down the other. Eateries such as Home Slice, Perla's, Cafe No Se, and Guerro's are all fabulous! A small food truck park has cupcakes, lemonade and sandwiches. Shopping is eclectic from high end Stag for men and Allen's Boots to mini... More

Funky little area with vintage shops, several upscale motels and live music. Food trucks and traveling art shows are also common in this area. We love to visit whenever we are in town. I highly recommend.

Austin has many entertainment areas. I believe South Congress must be one of the oldest and most established. The street is very long in length. It starts from the capitol building and continues to the outskirts of town. The main area of attraction is just off downtown. You'll find unique stores and shops where you can find anything from western... More

Congress Ave, is one of the oldest roads in Austin, you have to walk it all along. Lots and lots of coffee shops, restaurants, live music, bars, antiques shops, local markets, stop and go snacks. This is a must do when you come to Austin, TX
