My wife and I really enjoyed the eclectic shops and deliciously crafted food located up and down South Congress Street. Please check out Triple Z Threads and about 30 other boutique stores. You will have a great time eating from one of the cafe's and restaurants, there are 15 at least.

South Congress is busy anytime of the day. Shopping is great, check out the quirky little shops. Side street parking but pay attention to the parking signs and times.

When company comes to town, take the time to take a stroll. Local shop owners are friendly, items are unique. Some places offer Margueritas while shopping! Artists are open to discuss their work. Looking is ok and encouraged by shop owners. Try some local cuisine as you stroll. Take a fasten or taxi ride to barton springs park when you're... More

The eclectic shops on South Congress SOCO are the most fun. I love all of the shops and the experience of going into both resale and new shops and great resturants. Local artists have their jewelry displayed and UNCOMMON OBJECTS is a step back in time. If you want boots this is also the place to go Allens Boots have... More

A must see for all coming to Austin. Unlike North Congress, SoCo is less formal. Great small shops and restaurants. Not overly difficult to find parking, but you might have to look for a spot off of Congress on busy days.

How wonderful to live right on South Congress Avenue!! My family that I visit lives in an apartment there. We can leave their door and walk to most of the exciting shops and restaurants. If we can't walk it, there's always the bus. You don't have to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for the next bus to come... More

I walked over the river to the South Congress Avenue area on a pleasant January afternoon. This is fun place to visit, with many different shops, restaurants, a motel (or perhaps two), a busker or two, and a lot of traffic tearing up and down South Congress. There are many small shops that are out of the franchise mainstream. I... More

This was a fun/hip section of Austin. There are cute shops and plenty of places to eat. I enjoyed Torchie's Tacos and the delicious ice cream from Amy's.

If in Austin this is one of the sites you don't want to miss, as it has trendy bars and restaurants, and dito shops, so just stroll along and enter where ever you feel like it
