Not many places in the World where you will see such a natural wonder in a comfortable urban setting. This is the real deal. Price is right. The boat captain, D. J.,provides a fact filled hour and half (for our ride) back and forth on the lake giving details about the sites, the architecture and arcana. He knows the city... More

Thank you Michael for your very nice review of our bat watching experience. DJ is a great Captain as all of our captains are, very informative and always happy to talk with guests about the city and the famous bats here in Austin. We hope to see you again on one of our public cruises, thank you again. More

Entertaining tour of Town Lake followed by a sunset wait for the bats to come out. The bats are fascinating. The whole experience depends on the people on the boat. We had not started drinking as early or as often as some and it was hard to hear the narration over their amusement with themselves.

We thoroughly enjoyed this boat tour to see the bats. Our guide took us up and down the river, gave tons of information about the Austin skyline, about the bats and some city history. The bat's came out a little early because it had rained so they were very easy to see. We watched for about 20 minutes, then went... More

Although the time of year I visited was not the best for bat viewing, it was still awe inspiring. They river tour of Austin was interesting and worth the cost even if the bats were not there. Our guides were great and seeing the bats was amazing.

We took the Lone Star River Boat for the nightly sunset/bat tour. The crew was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. When our group first boarded, one of us said "Couldn't we just stand on the bridge for free?" Well, yeah, but for $10, you get loads of info about Austin, the buildings downtown, and the famed bats. Also, BYOB, no glass.... More

It's no one's fault but lower you expectations! The guide was terrific and did everything he could to entertain us but the star attraction was way oversold. If you want to simply go out onto the river, then take along your alcoholic beverages to make it go more pleasantly. Don't forget your jacket, so many people we really cold and... More

We took Lone Star's Bat Cruise while in Austin recently... it's about an hour or so long and a way to see some of the sights of Austin from the vantage point of the river while waiting for the arrival of the bats. There are different styles of boats, that can get you higher or closer to viewing the bats,... More

Found lone star river boat's moonlit cruise by chance and it was the perfect date for us. Easy to find on the lady bird trail. Once we were on the boat it was so romantic. BYOB. Get there early to get a good seat with a table.

First in all fairness I must say we enjoyed the serenity of being on the water. The host was knowledgeable. But in order to get on the boat you are asked to arrive 20 15-20 min.early to wait in line and CALL AHEAD TO MAKE A RESERVATION!!! Families were getting turned down that had tickets but didn't call ahead. The... More
