We actually happened on this during a bike trip around Lady Bird Lake. I'm not a huge fan, so I'm sure it would have been a different experience for me if I had been. However, this status is very well done. Make sure to check out his "shadow"- that's the only thing that actually made me write this review!

This is a great area to walk or rent a bike. Hang out by the lake and watch all the dogs enjoying the lakeside open space. Very nice trail along the lake on both sides - more than 5 miles if you want to walk or run the whole loop.

I have walked by this statue many times. I appreciate seeing it, especially since I saw SRV headline the Aquafest several times in that part of Zilker Park (Auditorium Shores). Its a perfect place to remember him.

Everyone gets their photo taken with "Stevie" he is our hero in Austin. Located in a popular spot so pretty much everyone walks by him.

Located on the south side of the Colorado River on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail in Auditorium Shores at Town Lake (between the 1st Street Bridge and the Lamar Street Bridge) the larger than life bronze sculpture of blues guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan, an adopted son of Austin who was killed in a helicopter crash... Great location and very well done piece of art. Larger than life of course as he was himself. The background is a bit cluttered now with all the construction going on in Austin but well worth a visit.

Austin is truly the "live music capital" of the world. Statues like the excellent rendition of Stevie Ray Vaughan & of Willie Nelson, etc. keep visitors informed of our roots. I hope the city never takes down these important landmarks.
