This is a medium-sized museum with some interesting Latin American and contemporary pieces and some Rennaisance works on paper. The highlight was the Ellsworth Kelly exhibit (temporary) and the Ellsworth Kelly "chapel" (permanent).

This a wonderful museum with literally something for everyone. From Renaissance religious art to some truly mind boggling modern pieces- the Blanton has it all

The newly opened Ellsworth Kelly designed Austin building, adjacent to the Blanton, is really wonderful. It showcases Kelly's Spectrum of color with luminous colored glass windows, black and white paintings representing the Stations of the Cross, and a Totem (wooden sculpture made of CA redwood)....More
