After this Capitol many times and is always a need Adventure. I most recently orchestrated a group of friends, one of which is a former guide at the Capitol who gave us the best tour ever!!! So much history there! They have many tours daily, so sign up and learn. Ted comfortable walking shoes because it's huge!

Easy to find, staffed with friendly folks, and offering a free tour every 15 to 30 minutes, we enjoyed hearing the history of Texas, the history of the building, and enjoying the many tidbits of history in the chambers, basement, underground additions, and the beautiful grounds. Really a great place to stop and reflect on the history of Texas.

The last remaining true old-time honky tonk left in the city limits. You will always see great authentic country music here any night. You can eat, listen to music and dance all in a homey comfortable place. They also have a cute side room with tons of country music memorabilia.

Great place to walk around and learn some history. The Capitol building itself is very nice in and out. The monuments in from and back are all worth a look. It looks like it would be a great place for a family picnic.

Amazing architecture, a great place for pictures and a nice afternoon activity with family or friends. Free entry. Very nice security staff. All areas of the building are beautiful, you are welcome to visit the inside.

A trip to Austin the state capitol of Texas is not complete without stopping here. Love all of the history and information you can obtain. The capitol is also open until 10 pm. The building and capitol grounds are amazing. I understand why Texans are so proud of their state.

The Capitol Visitors Center is in a separate building at the SE corner of the capitol grounds. It contains historical displays, as well as a staffed information center which has lots of tourist information.

We stopped at the Visitors Center after our visit to the Capital. There were several people available to answer questions and offer brochures about the Capital and Austin. There were interesting exhibits and videos about Texas and the Capital Building that added to my knowledge about the Capital and Texas history.

The people working here were very helpful. They told us about the Bullock museum which was close by and about the Capitol building tour. There are a couple of videos about Texas history you can watch from comfortable chairs and some interactive displays.

Thank Alexandra T
