Went here with some friends when we got into town and were waiting to check into our hotel. This is a cool little museum with some very impressive sculptures. Admission was free and the museum is self guided. The man who was working was very...More

We visited the Elisabet Ney museum because we were curious as to who she was. Although the story of the artist is told, the house is virtually empty. You can read what she did in each room, but without the props it's hard to imagine...More

Free and self guided tours take you through a few rooms of very impressive sculptures. Most are busts and life size and some are larger. We had a good time reading and learning about Elisabet Ney while doing the self guided tour. The studio is...More

This is Elisabet Ney's actual home and studio and is definitely worth a visit if you love sculpture. The home itself is incredibly unique and furnished pretty much as it was when she lived and worked the marble here. The visit is free, but I...More

Such, great History and Art. My family and I really enjoyed our visit her. It's small but interesting and the Young Lady who was working that day gave us a personal tour. I would love to go back again.

Despite the high reviews I don't see this as that special. Yet it is an intriguinhg glimpse back 100 years to a free spirited and eccentric traveler and sculptress who definitely marched to a different drummer. Interesting house. Lots of sculptures. And a certified native...More

As long as I live in this city, I am amazed this place is still standing in the same crumbling condition it was 10 years ago when I first looked inside.

Wonderful (empty) place to go. One area was not easily accessible but didn't detract from home. If you been to DC or TX Capital, you've seen the work of Elisabet Ney. Progressive sculptress who left a beautiful mark here in Austin. The grounds are kept...More
