It was a great day, the water was clear and calm. We rented kayaks and spent the entire day on the water.

This is an excellent park with many options for hiking, biking, picnicking, kayaking, sup, etc. It's a popular spot, but vast enough so that you don't feel overwhelmed with crowds. Although the pool was very crowded, so we opted not to go there.

It's one of my favorite place in Austin. You can go to the Barton Springs Pool and then play Beach Volley in the park.

This has the best vistas of the Austin skyline and some really pleasant walks alongside the river and in the coolness of the shady trees. Really pleasant overall and recommended for iconic views of Austin.

I have been in Zilker Park a number of times after dark and have seen no reason to be concerned, however its a very large park near a big city, consequently I would advise all due caution
