We just recently went to a special collection. It was interesting. Small museum, but well displayed. Asian art on other floors.

The Amarillo Museum of Art has a very nice schedule of exhibitions and lectures on various types of art. One need to go on the Web Page for their schedule of events and hours. The Ladd lecture series is very good and recently the Open Road was a step in the past. Prices are reasonable.

We had a slow day so we hit this small art museum. The pastels of the southwest were amazing and worth going just to see them.

It's incredible that a quality art museum exists in Amarillo. It's the perfect Saturday destination. The quality of the exhibits is phenomenal and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would suggest travelers driving through and locals to visit often. The best part, it's free!

I've traveled all across India and China and this collection has some amazing LARGE pieces you probably will not see in a museum - this collection is from a personal collection of a Korean war veteran local to Amarillo. Seriously impressive and worth the short drive to see it. Campus is super clean and easy to walk around, the security... More

I had a few hours before my flight this afternoon so stopped in at the museum of art. Very quiet and relaxing as I took my time looking at the exhibits. Security was helpful pointing out what was on each floor, as well. No charge for admission, be sure to leave a small monetary gift in the box at the... More

Thank you so much for visiting AMoA...the salt bags are one of our curator's favorite items as well! We hope you will come back for our next exhibition, Side by Side: Larry Bell and Gabriel Dawe, opening on July 15. More

What a cool museum with a variety of local art! It's clear that many of these artists are willing to take risks and try new and unique media...the results are a very creative and inspirational set of exhibits. We will visit again when we're in town!

There is an interesting Mixed Media exhibition at the museum, very different, ephemeral materials used and one piece that makes a lot of noise. The Price collection of Asian Art is very good.

They were in the middle of changing exhibits so only one floor was available for viewing. It was the top floor which houses an incredible Asian collection from an Amarillo doctor. We were very surprised at the extent of the works. Glad we went.
