What we saw was beautiful. A storm was coming in and they were going to close the roads, so we had to leave. We will go back for sure.

Spent four days exploring this expanse of terrain and wildlife ... beautiful. As you walk the trails, try to imagine the Chisos and the Jumano tribes doing the same many years ago when they lived in the area. Spanish explorers also roamed the area in...More

Second time to Big Bend National Park! The scenic drives are lovely, and the mountains are a wonderful break from the flatlands of Houston. Make sure to get the annual pass for $80 so that you can take in all of the parks for a...More

This very large National Park on the US/Mexico border is a massive place to visit. Some of the beauty is obvious and some subtle. It is recommended that you plane days, if not a week to scratch the surface of this amazing place. You can...More

The conditions of the roads was about the best thing about Big Bend. It cost $25.00 to enter. It is not majestic, or grand. There are some hills and semi mountainous terrain. It is kinda neat but not worth long distance drive. I guess after...More

Wide open spaces, harsh landscapes, beauty in the nothingness that is this land. We loved driving through here. Bring water, it feels hot and dry even when the temps are lower. The Panther Junction Visitor Center is the biggest one and we saw a tarantula...More

Spend the morning there as early as you can when it's cool and much less crowded than the afternoon. Head to the centre, the Chisos basin and hike up any of the trails. Fabulous views and escape.

Definitely contact Panther Junction visitor center. When we visited last December we had 3 days at Bibe and wanted to do everything! The knowledgeable and courteous staff and volunteers helped us immensely.

Hi,I need ome help, please! We,my huband (and me ) will be in the US ,middle of November 2016. He will be attending a congres in San Antonio and we will be there for a week. Then we will rent a car and would like to do some sightseeing. We do love nature, are almost 70 years of age,and do have some, unfortunate, health issues. I do have SLE and he did have a knee replacement 4 weeks ago,but that will all be sorted out by November We also ,if possable, would not like to do more than 250-300 Km each day and we have app 10 days before coming home, also boarding in San Antonio, and overnight in San Antonio the night before returning home to South Africa. We thought of first going to the Big Bend Nat Park, then to up north to Amarillo, then back to San Antonio. We always try to keep away of the highways if possable Please,if you know the area, give us some pointers, where, what and how. Thank you so much. Izelle
