Nice visitor center, lots of books brochures flyers etc. The films are interesting. :-) We were trying to start some research of great grandfather who was the town barber in the 1890's. The docent sent me to the flyers. The cashier didn't want to be at work today, and was almost no help. :-( I found a book that may... More

Have never been to a museum that had so much to read! Interesting displays. Probably best for children.

Frontier Texas is more than a museum. It's an experience. Small but interesting. Frontier Texas presents a new type of living history using holograms, 3D display and artifacts to bring visitors to the experience of the west. Well worth a visit.

Amazing. Surprised to find such a modern facility; e.g. talking holograms in Abilene. Could use more on the Texas Rangers.

We were waiting for a friend to get too town and decided to spend some time here. It was very informative, we learned a lot about Texas and the lives our forefathers.

My friend and I ventured out to this place while our husbands went hunting. We really enjoyed it. The exhibit was very engaging and educational. There were stories told by "spirits" of the past and I think all in all it painted a good picture of how the western expansion took place and the trials along the way.

There a lot of videos of historical people of the west and factoids that are interesting, but not geared towards younger kids. Wished there was more hands on stuff. Would not recommend to kids age 6-7 and under because some of the video content like indians kidnapping ppl and gun fights etc are shown in a dark room and are... More

Knew nothing about this new museum and was wowed from the start. Abilene is not the most exciting place I've ever lived or visited, but this museum truly brings the early history of the area and town to life i really engaging ways. It was a fantastic way to spend two hours and learn a whole lot in the process.

My son when to ACU and I had been by this place many times but never when it was open. When I finally went, I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and technically advanced the exhibits were. The grounds and sculptures were well thought out and maintained. The inside exhibits were educational and would appeal to most any age group.... More

Very interesting museum - learned so much about the "Old West". Some of it was shocking and disturbing but, gives new perspective on life there and then. Educational and interactive experiences are very well done.
