You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

Made reservations months in advance to attend the last showing of this play. October is not weather friendly in Oregon and this year was not different. On top of that, a storm also hit the Ashland area at this time. This didn't deny us the opportunity to miss this play nor were we disappointed. The case was great, the stage... More

This year we're only going to Winter's Tale and Twelfth Night, so as to allow a couple of hot new plays, Vietgone and Roe. As usual, the actors are mainly doing a fine job - more jobs than one, actually, since repertory requires them to learn multiple roles! Always worth the long drive from home, may the OSF continue to... More

I have been seeing plays at OSF for almost 40 years, starting as a young teen. OSF offers both Shakespeare and non-Shakespeare productions and recently has produced more musicals. The plays range from light and fun to deeply moving. The town of Ashland? Beautiful! Lithia Park in the fall has a gorgeous display of hardwood trees in beautiful colors and... More

Saw "Hamlet" .... excellent...... I can't say enough about the Oregon Shakespearen Festival. My family enjoyed it for eighteen years but it has been 30 years since I've returned. I brought my family, we will return next year.

Every year it's amazing what they do especially with the not so famous plays. We saw Winters Tale", The two halves, one a drama and one a comedy were set in Dynastic China and Bohemia. There was amazing singing and dancing as well as the always incredible period costumes. The Elizabethan theater has great seats all over and we have... More

Its not just Shakespeare. This season included the truly wonderful show Vietgone and always has something new and interesting. It is of course your destination of choice if you want to eventually see all of Shakespeares plays usually produced in innovative and often time shifting ways. Important tips. All the theaters are together. There is paid parking nearby at $2.00... More

Every year for at least twenty five years we have loved the plays We usually don't attend Shakespeare plays anymore but instead enjoy the musicals and dramas. The town is great. Good food, good shopping and good golf.
