You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

Shakespeare lives!

My wife and I saw Timon, our first Shakespeare play. Wow! We had a great time and were greatly entertained. 2 hours of wonderment.

We've been attending OSF off & on for the last 15 years & have been noticing a decline in Ashland. This year we arrived on 10/21/16 with tickets to 4 plays. In the play Timon, most of the acting was great, but the overly-sexualized visuals were unnecessary & offensive to some of the audience, as they left during intermission. Also,... More

There are more than Shakespeare plays offered. However, if you choose the "Bard," do your homework (Cliff Notes, Wiki, etc.) beforehand unless you were an English lit major in college. Of the four we saw, Hamlet was the best, done in traditional style. Twelfth Night was very good due to the 1930s venue and musical interludes; it took some liberties... More

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is one of the best theater experiences. The acting company is so impressive to watch transform from one play to another. If you are in the area from spring to fall be sure to see a play

Made reservations months in advance to attend the last showing of this play. October is not weather friendly in Oregon and this year was not different. On top of that, a storm also hit the Ashland area at this time. This didn't deny us the opportunity to miss this play nor were we disappointed. The case was great, the stage... More

This year we're only going to Winter's Tale and Twelfth Night, so as to allow a couple of hot new plays, Vietgone and Roe. As usual, the actors are mainly doing a fine job - more jobs than one, actually, since repertory requires them to learn multiple roles! Always worth the long drive from home, may the OSF continue to... More

I have been seeing plays at OSF for almost 40 years, starting as a young teen. OSF offers both Shakespeare and non-Shakespeare productions and recently has produced more musicals. The plays range from light and fun to deeply moving. The town of Ashland? Beautiful! Lithia Park in the fall has a gorgeous display of hardwood trees in beautiful colors and... More

Saw "Hamlet" .... excellent...... I can't say enough about the Oregon Shakespearen Festival. My family enjoyed it for eighteen years but it has been 30 years since I've returned. I brought my family, we will return next year.
