Our permanent home is now under construction, but you can still watch our carvers and painters at work in our temporary studio, and enjoy browsing our gift shop. We should be in our new home in June, 2017. Founded in 2004, the Historic Carousel and Museum is creating a world class carousel complex in downtown Albany that will draw visitors from around the world and contribute to the economic revitalization of historic downtown Albany.

Very interesting to go downstairs and see them carving the animals for the carousel. The carousel ride is only $2 and they have a place to buy snacks as well as a gift shop. You can even carve a little if that is your thing....More

Have been going there for years. Can watch carvers and painters creating the animals for the carousel. They have built a new building and the carousel is up and running. There are still more animals to add.

This carousel shows some extremely hard work and artistry. Very beautiful characters to choose from. All hand carved and painted. Definitely worth the trip to Albany.

The Historic Carousel and Museum is a must see in Albany. There are things for youngsters and adults. The Carousel is magnificent and fun! The museum is very interesting, and the gift store is fun, even if you do not buy anything.
