Spent entire day, got there when park opened, took 7 & 10 year old children, took stroller, walking was hard on everyone, some animals slept so didn't get to see black and grizzly bears. Polar bear was the best, was swimming and very exciting!! Gorillas were active too!! Giraffes were the best!!! Food was reasonable, glad there are healthy items... More

Great place, with plenty of walking. Animals have plenty of room to run. Really enjoyed seeing it with my grandchildren, son, daughter in law and husband.... Just wish it was closer...

My wife and I loved the zoo. A lot of walking. Definitely start in North America first and end up in Africa. There weren't any polar bears on display, but this place is huge and very well designed. They have a wide variety of animals. Several food choices. Didn't get to do the paddle boats. We paid $10/pc. for wristbands... More

Awesome zoo, what I like about this zoo is how the animals live in more of their naturals habitat. I think River Banks Zoo is better in Columbia though because you can see the animals allot closer. Parking is a nightmare, there needs to be more handicapped parking for sure. I had to park under a tree because all the... More

It was raining but we went anyway. Not many people were there...almost had the place all to ourselves. Got discounts at the gate which was awesome considering the pricing is already nice. Started on the North American side and worked our way down to Africa. (you go downhill if you do that.) Since it was raining, many of the residents... More

We took a small trip to the the NC Zoo from Raleigh, NC. A beautiful ride along scenic country roads into the foothills of the NC mountains. We arrived about an hour after they opened to a busy but not congested park. You will want to plan which animals are important to you, so you are at that enclosure during... More

We decided to go to the zoo on a whim because we were looking for a nice place for walking. We loved it so much we ended up buying a 2 year pass which has a great rate for seniors over 65. We spent half a day there but definitely plan on coming back.

We had an amazing time. The weather way perfect for the zoo- I can imagine on hot days it might be rough. We went on a Sunday morning, 65 degrees- good time to go- not super busy. My family loved it. Very affordable and easy to get around! We were tired at the end! Lots of walking, but a great... More

We had a great day. The zoo is laid out very well and the exhibits are informative. Restrooms were surprisingly clean. Worth the price.

We love a day at the zoo! The lions, Bears, polar bears and creatures were out and about today! Great day for family fun. Wear your walking shoes there's lots of hiking around. We are members of the zoo and go as often as possible!
