It’s also called the fruit market. Hit and humid but there are so many varieties to see, it’s a good place. Being a tropical place fruits are plenty, and you can buy all you can carry, and take back to your apartment or nearby island...More

I liked looking through the fruit and veg market. I really liked the coconut cake and the fruit that looked like pandanus.

I didnt buy anything as they seemed to overinflate prices for foreigners (£10 for chili sauce?) but what a fun atmosphere and ample photo opportunities. Locals are fun and full of banter. Some weird fruit and veg that I had absolutely no idea what they...More

This is a great way to see inside what people eat every day. The fish market had fish I’d never seen before.. the vegetables were fresh and abundant. Not much to see, but interesting to stop in to if you pass by.

Interesting display at stalls of tropical fruits and vegetables, some I had not seen before. Friendly stall owners. Locals shop for produce here.

Once you have got use to the smell, it is a fish market after all, you will discover a great market, buzzing with an extraordinary display of fishes. Really worth a visit.

We did a walking tour of Male on our own and passed by the local market . Amazing fresh produce on offer for sale. There seemed to be many types of fresh produce from lots of countries of the world. Good experience

The prices are very high but I assume there are different prices for locals and expats. Maybe with a good bargain you can get something

It's pretty much in the middle of the northern shore. If you're at Republic Square (the main square with the big flag) and facing the sea, turn left along the coast and it's a minute or two away.
