This is probably the most interesting place you can go as you can get into the thick of the action. There are fish everywhere and your can see the fishermen unloading their catch from the boats in front.

Went looking for the fish market to purchase bait and was told to get tuna belly. Small fish in baskets were displayed on the floor for sale just outside the market. As you enter the fishy smelly market, you get greeted by many locals and lots of big sized tuna. It is a big surprise for me to see tuna... More

They are interesting in that there are a lot of different kinds of seafood here, everything is fresh. To the smell you get used to. We bought shrimp, and cooked in the evening. Good market.

Mother & I we took a speedboat journey time is 30 minutes. 100 Rufiyaa person one way. Note the time & pickup spot for your return journey. The jetty is all along the main street / promenade fronting the sea. A two-hour walkabout from where your drop off is enough to savor most sights. Start at the giant flagpole. There... More

Fish, large and small, are being cleaned and there is the "open air" quality of the market. A fun little excursion.

The Male fish market is one of the highlight and must see places in Male. You can see how all fishes are cleaned and sold. Even it's not too big and lots of tourists go there, it's worth a visit, you can get a glimpse of the way fishermen work and live.

MaIe’ fish market is the main hub of the trade in Maldives and also is a great tourist attraction who wants to have a glimpse of the large display of big fishes. It is near the two markets, local and the imported items ones. I worked in Maldives for over ten years. The main foreign exchange of Maldives is by... More
