About
Imagine yourself cruising through an underwater garden filled with tropical fish. This is exactly what you will experience during your 45 minute dive. On board the submarine you will descend to a submerged reef 45 meters beneath the surface. However the first stop is at 25 meters where you will see a colorful display of corals and different types of reef fish. In most of the dives the submarine is greeted by a school of blue or yellow-stripped Snappers. Common Lion-fish, Yellow Box Fish and turtles are usually found here. Next stop at 40 meters is yet another type of coral garden and depending on current the submarine will be beached on a sandy spot just close to a big cave. The exterior lights of the submarine will enable you to see the different types of fish taking shelter inside the cave

Watching the Indian Ocean corals and fishes using a submarine was an unforgettable experience. The submarine took us to a depth of about 50 meters, where we could see the amazing diversity of life on the coral reefs. We saw colorful fishes of different shapes and sizes, such as butterflyfish, angelfish, parrotfish, and surgeonfish. Some of them were swimming in schools, while others were hiding among the corals. .

The submarine ride was a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty and complexity of the coral reef ecosystem. We felt a sense of awe and wonder, as well as a responsibility to protect this fragile and valuable resource.

Wated 45 Min of my life. In all of Indian Ocean they could only show coral reef on one side. Rest of the people were just seeing ocean water for 15 min then they told to change seat so that other people can watch the same thing, spotting only small to medium fishes that too handful. Nothing to go under ocean

Depending on the time of the day and underwater condition, marine life may vary. These natural factors are beyond our control. This is the downside of operating into natural waters. However, if you are unhappy we can always offer you another dive just FREE of charge.

Some of the positives:
1. It is a special experience. This is only our second time in a submarine as not many other places offer such an experience. That said, our previous experience in Mauritius was much better.
2. We did see what we wanted to (or rather, what the children were excited to see - lots of fish).
3. The young chap who played the role of "host" on the submarine tried hard to do his job, walking up and down and explaining to everyone what we were seeing.

The not-so-positives:
1. Safety felt like an after-thought through the entire experience. I can imagine many other countries where they would have been shut down by the authorities with the way they operated.
2. The boat used to ferry passengers out to the platform where we boarded the submarine felt older than I am. It felt unsafe, and the engine was obviously struggling with the load and against the waves. It was going at the same speed as someone paddling in a kayak. I literally saw fear in the faces of some of my fellow passengers, especially while boarding and alighting.
3. No safety briefing on the boat, even though it did not look too sea-worthy nor confidence-instilling. None of the passengers knew where the life jackets were placed or what to do in the event of an emergency (which is not a distant possibility looking at the condition of that ancient vessel).
4. Half the staff members were unfriendly.
5. Time management was a mess. We were told to arrive at the jetty at 0830. We stood around in the rain (no seats, and we got wet because it was also windy while raining) until finally someone arrived at 0905 to collect payment, before promptly ignoring us again - no updates, explanations, nor expected timelines. Just more standing around and waiting. Finally we boarded at 0945, and very soon, some of us wished we had not paid and we could back out because of the condition of the boat and lack of safety considerations through most of the process.

I regretted boarding the boat soon after my family got on. During several parts of the activity, I genuinely feared for my family's safety and was running contingency plans in my head should someone get injured. If I had known it was like that, I would have given this a miss, even though going on a submarine trip is a very cool idea.

Thank you for your comment. Despite the short comings, I am sure you and family enjoyed the real underwater tour. The transfer Boat that takes you the submarine platform was a hired boat (service taken from local service providers). This boat keeps changing everyday. The safety briefing for the transfer boat is NOT required because of the short distance you travel (just over 10min). There is a safety briefing on the submarine itself. We have carried over 350,000 passengers on similar underwater tours and the crew is well experienced and the submarine is fully classed. Any short comings on our side is regretted. Cheers

We were picked up from Jetty No. 1 in a boat, which looked not very safe though. We were not given any life jacket too which looked a bit odd. The boat dropped us at a platform where the submarine was docked. After a bit of waiting we were asked to hop into the submarine. The submarine cabin looked well maintained and clean. The crew gave a safety brief and shared Dos and Donts. The trip was not bad, we saw a good view of reef, various kinds of fishes and turtles too.The overall experience was good.

Boat ride from the jetty was very rough, the boat itself looked very unsafe and very uncomfortable. The place where u hop on the submarine looked scary and run down, full of rust. Submarine itself, from the inside was ok, views of the reef were ok too, fair bit of fish to be seen, we were lucky enough to see turtles over all the trip was ok.
