We can go just up to the gate . There is nothing much to do. Off course we can take some pics in front of the gate.

You can see the palace in the distance, take photos with the guards and outside the palace gates. I was fortunate to be there when the horse and guard change over occurred, rather formal proceedings.
contrary to what you are told on the hop on hop off bus, you are not allowed in. You can only get to the gate and fence and take a few pics with the guard. I read that there is changing of the guard ceremony...More
It is a grand residence and looks huge from outside. I would have loved to have a look inside, but it is not allowed
Well-maintained displays. Beautiful furnishings and architecture. The new palace is many times this size and the building pales in size and opulence compared to Buckingham but still it's worth a visit. 45-60 minutes is enough
We visited the palace on the HOHO route, arriving at 11.40. The commentary suggested the changing of the guard would occur at 12pm, so we waited around until 12.30 and still saw nothing. One member of our party was particularly interested in seeing the COTG...More
No need to spend more than 10 minutes or so here. Get a few pictures, have a quick look around and then get out of there.
