This museum is a must. Coming from America and touring with Americans, there was some hesitency to come to this museum initially. However, when you spend any time in KL and you are surrounded by mutliple cultures and many muslims the attitudes change. This museum is beautiful, peaceful and cool. Through the whole South East Asia vacation, we encoutered people... More

Perhaps my ignorance comes to light in our trip to the Islamic Arts Museum but I wasn't particularly interested in too much of the displays with a lot of it appearing to be very 'samey' from my point of view. I do have to stress that this is just my opinion on it and i'm sure people with an established... More

The museum provide a lot of information to learn about Islam in general and about its history in India and China. The Quran section gives a wonderful display of the progression of Arabic calligraphy. Very quite and calm atmosphere. Information is provided for all the objects.

This would never be my first choice, but after having visited the Islamic Arts Museum in KL, I can only strongly recommend anybody to go to this place. You can learn a great deal about the many aspects coming forward out of Islam. Important to note is that even when you are a non-believer or another religion you will find... More

It's not a great museum by international standards but is easy to walk through and has a rather interesting collection of Islamic books, costumes and artifacts, and some well curated exhibitions of other Islamic arts. There is a pleasant cafe serving an assortment of Islamic dishes which makes for a very pleasant meal.

This is a beautiful place - restrained and elegant architecture with restful fountains and open spaces. The museum is laid out over multiple floors - it isn't crammed with stuff (like the Cairo museum!) but gives a wonderful view of Islam over the ages. Sections are devoted to Islam in India and China. One of my favorites is the collection... More
