Directly in downtown Osaka is Shitennoji Temple. After seeing so many temples the last two weeks, I would not have been impressed. This one happened to have a live ceremony happening inside and it was pretty inspired to sit back as bystander and watch. We're...More

It was beautiful cherry blossom time of the year! Walking in the back garden with a lake tied everything nicely.

Went on a weekday so it was rather quiet but it was a nice place to just walk and look around. The pagoda was still accessible but there was construction going on, so I gave it a miss

The complex officially opened at 8:30am, but the surrounding grounds could be explored before the main section opened. It looked like there were some repairs going on as construction workers were milling about. The main part of the shrine has an entrance fee, but is...More

Shitennoji is a traditional Japanese temple in Osaka, the temple is pretty big with places you can go in to feel the Japanese culture. Strongly recommend going there.
