The castle is beautiful, however a number of displays in the castle museum do not have English descriptions, which makes it difficult to understand the significance of what you're looking at. There's a costume experience available on the 2nd floor where you can dress up...More

We were there on a very hot day but the visit was totally worth it. Read up a bit of Japanese history before you go to better enjoy the museum.

Worth two hours to take in the view. The History Museum is right next to the Castle and equally interesting to spend time there. Buy a joint ticket at the museum for 900 yen instead of 1200 if bought separately.

Easy to get to. Visit early to miss the crowds. Note the numbers in the information boards in side the Castle so you get the full story of the events that transpired I history. Good views from the top.

Castle opens and closes as stated 9-5, i think your find the grounds outside the moat are open 24 hours? main reason being they have venues nearby. The grounds inside the moat are locked down.
