Impressive Building. One of the mandatory landmarks in Osaka. There are two good spots to take pictures without paying the entrance fee. The first one is just south of the castle, near the Zannenishi. The second spot is near the Tamatsukuri-guchi entrance, where you have...More

This was the only castle we visited with A/C! It was organized and the flow was perfect. The story and history was amazing. The way the pictures and models are displayed tells and shows the history. It’s very well done!

It almost qualifies as a tourist trap except that it offers a chance for exercise and relative quiet in a big city. As we got closer to the castle we dodged a lot of mainland China tourists and had to dodge their barrage of requests...More

The approach to the castle through the autumn coloured gardens was lovely and the castle exterior sparkled - lovely to look at. The main attraction to pay the entrance fee is to see the view from the top. The 5 or so floors of museum...More

Excellent place to visit. We used a local guide for the day which was the best way to see all the highlights of Osaka without being stressed !!

It takes about an hour each way on the train from Osaka station and 3 hours to see everything without rushing. Definitely worthwhile, but avoid Sat and Sun if possible. Too many people causing line-ups.

Great day at Osaka castle looking at the trees changing colour while walking along the expansive grounds. The castle itself was interesting too and had great views from the top, though all the wire mesh up there makes it hard to get a good photo....More

Castle opens and closes as stated 9-5, i think your find the grounds outside the moat are open 24 hours? main reason being they have venues nearby. The grounds inside the moat are locked down.
