- Cheryl-Lynn KHonolulu, Hawaii13 contributionsSakura 🌸⛩️5- the beautiful cherry blossoms are in full bloom. One of the most beautiful sights. The park is lively with food booths, picnickers having lunch or dinner under the beautiful trees. We witnessed school children having an outing and stopped for a snack under the trees. So serene. It’s gorgeous! ⛩️🇯🇵🌸❤️Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 April 2023
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China14,495 contributionsOld OsakaThis is the place of old Osaka city. The vast area is now a lush park with heritage dating back to the shogun era. The view of encompassing Osaka Castle tower is particularly impressive. Do come in early morning for those hoping to enter the castle.Visited April 2023Written 23 April 2023
- Abovetheclouds2,442 contributionsBeautiful walk.Such a beautiful walk. The views of Osaka Castle are so nice. Walk away from the main areas and you will find some peaceful spots to appreciate the beauty and to get some good photographs. We went in the afternoon when it was very busy and warm. Try and go in the morning if you can. Wear good shoes as the Park covers a large area and take water.Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 June 2023
- 2CAtravelersBrattleboro, Vermont876 contributionsBeautiful! This is the amazingly beautiful park which surrounds the castle. There are paths everywhere so strolling is simple. There are kiosks scattered about the area. The nearby train station is about a 15 minute walk. The trick is to find a less crowded area so it's easier to sit and linger, just enjoying the park.Visited April 2023Written 10 June 2023
- JEFUHOTexas326 contributionsBes View/t Park in OsakaAmazing Park. Lots to see, Castle is stunning, perfection... There are festivals going on most of the spring/ summer/ autumn months. This park is HUGE, you might want to take the little train to get around, if you are mobility challenged. Get there early to see Castle, there was a 45 minute line to get ticket and get in. Best views in Osaka... enjoyVisited September 2022Travelled with familyWritten 14 June 2023
- JesperCopenhagen, Denmark4 contributionsOsaka - quite overwhealming but still exciting place to visitInitially I found the city of Osaka utterly overwhealming and confusing, but after some deeper exploring this feeling was gradually replaced by excitement and awe. So far, however, I’m happy that I don’t have to live here, but the city is actually worth a visit… Just remember to keep a basic to-do list at hand for your first visit, or you may easily get lost at some point… I had just one day in the city and started out from Osaka Castle Park. From the top of the castle I got a shot of the nearby Lawson Crystal Tower where the glass facade reflections made the building seem almost transparent…!Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 July 2023
- asdfgalVancouver, Canada124 contributionsIt's new, but lovely views of OsakaThis is a great venue for photos, but the museum aspect was not very interesting for me. If you're really into Japanese military history it would suit you! The Castle was rebuilt in the 30's and huge reno in 1997 so don't expect anything too old here.Visited July 2023Written 3 August 2023
- Rhino Stocks2 contributionsOsaka Castle ParkOsaka Castle Park is like a chill oasis in the middle of the city hustle. You've got this big, historic castle that's like a time machine to ancient Japan. The park is perfect for picnics and strolls – there are trees, ponds, and fresh air galore. If you're in Osaka and need a breather, this park is your go-to. Castle vibes and nature feels all in one place! 🏯🌳🍃Visited October 2022Travelled with familyWritten 21 August 2023
- Emma CGodalming, United Kingdom2,360 contributionsAn OasisThe park and moat surrounding Osaka-Jo are very pretty and a real oasis in the craziness of Osaka. We were there in autumn, so it looked extra lovely with the leaves starting to turn. The other thing that caught my eye is that it was full of locals picnicking, wandering, painting, or running around with their kids. It's definitely a nice space for time away from the hustle and bustle.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 December 2023

Visit here is a must. It's absolutely worth the time. The castle has so much history displayed on each of the floors and the view from the top is spectacular. Walk around the ground to see much more.

Happy to be here. A very large and beautiful historical place. It's always busy with visitors so the queues are very long but it's worth what you get after entering this large area. Highly recommended 👍🏻

The park grounds are very nice, with very old trees. There is a time capsule that was fascinating to see. Done in 1970, the purpose is to not open for another 50,000 years!

We visited late in the evening. It was magical to walk through the grounds and the walkways. It is like stepping back in time in a wondrous way. To enhance the experience we stumbled across a class in Samurai Kendo fighting. Their terrifying howls and screams unwittingly brought to life for us how the battles might have sounded at the castle all those centuries ago.

If you like to wander a park and then check out a traditional older building than this is a perfect place for you. Entry into the castle is not expensive and you can wander at your leisure, with exhibits inside.

What time does the park close? We will be arriving in namba around 3:30PM . We plan to go to the osaka castle park after checking in at our hotel. I know the castle closes at around 4:30PM during autumn season, but can we still stroll around within the park near the castle even until around 7PM?

I notice that there are a number of train stops near this park... Which one should I get off from for easier access to the park? Thank you.

Where is the parking lot?

It is published on the official site of Osaka Castle Park.
The general vehicle parking lot seems to be in Mori no Miya and Osaka Castle Park station. I think that it is better to go by public transportation because it might be crowded.

You can buy a special ticket to the top of the Castle, That’s there you can view overall of the park.
Добрый день! Подскажите, замок работает до 16-30. Можно ли парк около замка посетить после этого времени?
Hello! Tell me plz, the castle is open until 16.30 p.m. Park near the castle can be visited after this time?

They close exactly at 5pm. I think they start not letting people into the Castle starting at 4:30pm (that's what the other castles and temples also did while I was in Japan).
