Formally the home of the wife of 16th-century Japanese ruler Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the 15-acre Nishinomaru Garden is one of Osaka's most beloved cherry blossom viewing spots, with the Osaka Castle Tower enhancing the backdrop.

We went on a Wednesday and spent most of the day at Osaka Castle. Was really interesting to see the exhibits and the view from the top was stunning.

Osaka castle is a must see! The history and displays are impressive. Be sure to get your photo taken with a samurai and pick up some cool Japanese souveniers!

A great historical experience. Fun ninja games and stuff about the fable Yukimura. There's a food stall nearby that also serves beer.

This is a beautiful place, and I am glad we came here on a day trip from Kyoto. It can get a little crowded, but so do most of the touristy places. When you climb on top, there are gorgeous views of the city.

You can use trains (rail or subway), but the closest one is by city bus. The bus stop is more closer to the main entrance area then train station. You can stop at Banbacho bus stop.

Checkout the Osaka Castle web site. The area surrounding the castle is a city park and there are plenty of places for great photos. I assume the gates to the inner castle area close at some point. The web site states the... More
