Excellent Kimono Service

My family enjoyed the kimono while walking to the kiyomizu temple. The service is excellent and professional. From kimono to the hair setup are fantastic!

If you're going to Kyoto, I will highly recommend you to go to Okamoto to try on Kimono or Yukata. The service there was really good and the staffs were really nice. That was the first time I wear a Kimono, I was very excited about it. As I have no idea how to choose, I ask the staff to choose... Part of the allure of Kyoto is seeing geishas and viewing life in the past. What better way than to wear a kimono and this was an incredibly popular activity. My wife participated and had a wonderful time. It took about 30 minutes to decide on which kimono, belt, bag to accessorize with ; after that it took about 45... More

Amazing experience! Was recommended from here and indeed was not disappointed, you will find on the way there are many many kimono rental places around the area but you can see the difference in quality ( I believe this is one of the most expensive one $50 for full set with hairdo ), but if you are up for an... Highly recommend this place! Not only was there a great selection of kimono, the staff were very very very helpful and kind. My friend and I chose the 5000yen plan. I had made an appointment online a few days prior. So when we arrived, they led us in and gave us these big bags to put our shoes and things... More

Me and my husband decided to rent kimonos for a day and we chose top rated on Trip Advisor place - Kimono Okamoto. We went to Gion shop which was in Gion (area of Kioto with plenty of temples and traditional Japanese buildings). We loved it! There was a good quantity of kimonos to choose from(the earlier you come, the... More

My friend and I rented kimonos from the Main shop a few days ago. It was a wonderful experience! Very many kimonos to choose from (especially if you are under 175 cm tall (I'm not so I had a slightly smaller selection)). Here is how the process looks like: 1) You go to the cash register tell them the name... More

There's no better place to try on Japanese traditional wear - kimono, than in the beautiful Kyoto surrounded by traditional buildings. As it was a peak season, I made reservations beforehand and arrived at the shop earlier to avoid the crowd. It took me about an hour to select the cloth and accessories, wear it with the help of the... More

Kimono rental facilities are a dime a dozen in the Kyoto area, but Kimono Okamoto is one of the best. I have done a bit of comparison and for the price you get a very high qualify kimono. I have seen many other folks walking around with touristy versions, but this location have very nice traditional ones. You get many... More
