Stroll through garden and enjoy. Get there early. Autumn colors are excellent. Very special moss garden and zen rock garden.

As the old saying goes, "A Picture is worth a thousand words". Have a look at the photographs that I have attached and see for yourself just how beautiful the gardens are.

With so many temples in Kyoto it's hard to decide which ones to visit. This World Cultural Heritage site has a magnificent garden which is why we chose to visit it.

It's hard to write this review without talking about Arashiyama as a whole. The temple itself is extremely nice, a great place to meander through the gardens. But then that's to be expected in Kyoto! The surrounding area is the great addition though, feels more...More

An area of temples with backdrop of mountains are already captivating enough, even if one does not enter the World Culture Heritage Sogenchi Garden. Is worth a tour, since is FOC afterall for the area of temples. One would need to pay a small fee...More

While I'm not a big fan of admission fees for this sort of thing it was quite beautiful and interesting to see, another spot commercialized a bit too much but still a nice spot.

I would only by the ticket for the garden since you can see the temple quite well just walking outside and inside it is quite plain . The garden is very beautiful.

As you visit the nearby bamboo garden , do drop by this beautiful temple and the surrounding garden. Crowded but one can still enjoy the beautiful surrounding. For 500¥ you can enter into the temple. Worthy of a UNESCO heritage site.

riverbank, under wooden bridges that beckon nature
lovers to hiking trails and botanical walks. The
