Maya Ropeway links Nijino Eki (the midway of the mountain) and Hoshino Eki, the top of Mt. Maya. The travel lasts only 5 minutes, but while you are in a gondola, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Hanshin areas.

We took this cable car as a way to get out of Arima for a while and see the surrounding area. The Arima station is a bit of an up-hill walk out of town along a road with no sidewalk, but the road wasn't too busy. The ride itself was smooth and pleasant, geat views into the mountain valleys we... More

We went during the day, so did't see the night view, but had a GREAT day view. Can see all the way to Osaka. Good place for a nature walk and hike.

We caught the train to shin Kobe station and the #28 bus leaves from right outside. It stops at Maya. The tram runs every 20 mins. Only a few people were there. We then changed to the rope way and went to the top. Lots of school children were there so it wasn't very quiet. It was very hazy and... More

To get there first had to go by the Maya Cable Car which was quite ordinary. We then hopped on the Maya Ropeway. The Maya Ropeway took us all to the top, we were quite scared when we hopped onto it. You could see amazing scenery all around us when were riding ropeway. When we got to the top the... More

The ropeway trip was ordinary, but once you reached the top you can have a great view of the city. Recommended to visit at night for the city view, unless you want to continue trekking at Mt. Maya.

More scenic than Nunobiki, it's a fun way to get to and from Mt. Maya (with the Maya Cable car that gets you up to Rainbow station). Max 25 riders and runs every 20 minutes (like the cable car). Enjoy!
