The memorial cenotaph is shaped like a saddle and inside is a stone room where all the names of the victims of the bombing are kept. This si near the center of the park and is one of the best monuments there.

This is the first monument that you see when you enter the park... it is simple and surrounded by fresh flowers that people bring with them to pay tribute. We watched a school group visit, lay flowers and pay there respects...

Save a prayer to all the victims of that morning. Touching place to remember and understand what happened.

As a part of the park, you have to visit this monument when you are in Hiroshima. Good to stand still and think about what happened.

This is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy Hiroshima, a lovely place to be with family or friends and remind yourself how lucky we are that we haven't experienced the horrific events which Hiroshima has.
