Fair amount of animals to see. The zoo isn't too big so it's easy to get around. My main concern is the animals look a bit malnourished and bored. A lot of them walk back and forth in the same pattern which I don't think is healthy sign for their mentality. They could probably do with more space as well,... More

Good zoo, although some animals seemed to be missing - perhaps because it was winter. Otherwise, nice place, good location.

A pretty small zoo, but kinda interesting Most of the animals are kept indoors over winter so it means you can get up pretty close compared to a normal zoo. Not somewhere I would go to Sapporo especially to visit but a good way to spend a couple of hours if you have young kids who like animals.

The zoo is fun with lot of close-up animal views and they are so cuuuuute! The size of the zoo is not large but there are plenty of exhibition centers you can explore. Great place for couples and family. Definitely a must-go in Sapporo.

A mid-size traditional zoo, caging and confining animals. It was so sorry to see creatures such as kangaroos crowded in a small cage. Also should keep watch for crows in the air. They will dive at people and rob your food.

As far as zoos go, this isn't bad, kids will love it. The animals cages aren't a bad size and they are in good condition. The zoo is well designed so that it's easy to walk around and see the majority of the animals in 3 -4 hours. It has 3 locations that serve food and you can also buy... More

Though it was a chilling day, it was all fun and memorable. The zoo has a lot of unique and beautiful animals that the management seemed to be taking extra good care. Panda, leopard, lion, black bear, and different species of monkeys are entertaining! We took a lot of pictures. My son had fun looking at the animals here and... More

I lived near marayuma so I made a trip to the zoo with my family. Some of the newer exhibitions like the monkeys and chimpanzees were great. We got to see them feed the animals up close and the chimps played freely in a well ventilated and clean place. However, some of the older exhibition buildings were truly unpleasant, smelly... More

If you are an animal lover, you will enjoy visiting this zoo. This zoo is well-maintained and clean. No doubt its not very big, but its sufficient I felt. Not too tiring at least. Animals looked clean. Polar bears, penguins, seal, kangaroos were my main attraction because these are not available in M'sia. There's a small petting farm in the... More

My 1st Self-drive (F&E) tour. My 1st visit to Japan. Visited Maruyama Zoo after Maruyama Park and Hokkaido Shine. This is a small zoo. There aren’t many animals in this zoo.

Thank Jason L
