Relatively compact village of all sorts of buildings from all of hokkaido set up in one place. Easy to reach by (rental) car. But still at least 30-40 minutes from central sapporo. Interesting if you dive into the historic background of each building.

A wonderful place to visit to learn about the farming, fishing, mountain and town villages of ancient Hokkaido. Wear comfortable walking shoes that you don't mind taking on and off because you will have the opportunity to explore and walk through some well restored buildings....More
