Japanese big towns always transform underground and this is no different. But this is by far one of the most extensive. It makes sense given Hokkaido's cold climate most of the year. It connects the red light district, all the way to sapporo station.

Wide underground pass-should be very useful during the cold winter time. But not as many shops as other underground shopping or restaurant streets as other Japanese cities. Just a mean of connection path, no need to pay it a visit as a destination or place to to find a decent meal.

This is a great shopping experience especially during cold weather. Lots and lots of restaurants and shops. Good place to walk around and is connected to the train station.

The size and extensiveness of this underground walkway/shopping area is amazing! It is literally another city under the city. The nice thing is if it's cold or wet, you can walk underneath the city to stay warm and dry. I'm not much for spending a vacation shopping, but you certainly could spend an entire day (or more) down there shopping!

If weather is too cold outside, on can easily navigate the city via this pedestrian space. There are adequate signs going to different tourist spots pf Sapporo.

We were quite pleased to find a way to walk Sapporo to escape the chill & snow along with the locals. There are numerous eateries to be found in the various passages and restrooms are plentiful in the many stores. You may exit onto the streets of Sapporo's varied attractions: Odori Park, Susukino, etc.

A clean and tidy underground passageway only. If you expect it is like other underground passageways in Japan that have shops for shopping, I am afraid you will be disappointed. There are just a few beverage shops (not more than 10 shops along the passageway). Although it is not a shopping street, it is safe and will not be affected... More

This is a very smart initiative of this city. Protecting people from the cold and offering various attractions like restaurants, shops and the like. We enjoyed it a lot during our visit to Sapporo.

The great thing about this area is it keeps you warm and dry while you move between Susukino and Sapporo stations. Various shops, bars and restaurants, no traffic lights. And no foul weather. What's not to like.
