Take the bus no7 from the bus terminal near JR station. If you intend to join the bath, you should buy the ticket that include round trip bus and bath at 1800 ¥ Take easy sitting on this ordinary bus about 1 hour to Jozenkai, and get off at the last stop at Hoheikyo Onsen. This authentic bathhouse is just... More

Let me say that this is, hands down best Onsen near Sapporo. Take the number seven bus from platform 12 in the bus station at Sapporo central station. A ticket counter that is literally 4 feet from the bus stop will sell you the tickets. Get the package for 1,800 jpy (at time of writing feb2016) the bus runs every... More

We went here by bus number 7 from stand 12 at sapporo station we purchased the package deal from the bus driver but can also get from the kiosk at stand 12. Cost was 1800 yen which covered entry to the onsen and bus to and return. It was so easy. This onsen is the last stop so you can't... More

Went with a group of Sapporo friends by car to this amazing place, they serve real indian curry which is pretty unusual at an onsen, but the real attractions are the baths. Indoor pool is wonderfully eroded sandstone, outdoor rotenburo is huge holding up to 200 people. A big stone slab is ideal for your ice-cold Sapporo beer (from the... More

Chosen the Hoheikyo Onsen for it's beautiful nature surroundings and it's interior. Natural and beautiful! And of course for it's famous naan which highly recommended by many reviewers. Our hotel staff in Sapporo suggested and help us to make reservation for return bus tickets. And they also commented that it's a very nice onsen! We took bus no. 7 at... More

I loved this place. People make comment to it being old and run down, but I think this is all part of the character. It feels local. Not commercial and fancy like some of the others. My partner and I paid 1000yen each for the entrance fee. If you have never been before, basically you walk in, take your shoes... More

Wanted to try a good local onsen and had spent the longest time researching for a suitable onsen that I can bring my 2 children age 6 and 8, girl and boy with us to the onsen to experience the Japanese culture. I was worried that they will be too restless and disturb other guest. We almost decided to go... More

It was recommended by the hostel staff. For 1800 yen, you can take a bus number 7 at platform 12 in Sapporo station, travel about 90 minutes to this onsen. It amazing to visit during winter. The staff speaks English so no worries. Definitely something one should do.

We also took the Y1800 package from Sapporo Bus station, stand #12. It's a very good deal because the bus ride is over Y800 each way and I think admission to the onsen (included in the package) is Y1000! We rented bath towels from our hotel for Y100 each. They have a very reasonably price massage for Y2000 (includes special... More

I enjoyed the beautiful outdoor rotemburo with many flowers and shrubbery all around but beware of the flying bugs that sting, and dragonflies that hover over you. The cement floor of the indoor bath is designed like crators on the moon, it's meant to prevent one from falling but very hard on the feet. The naan bread was to die... More
