A big Park that is connected to Hokkaido Shrine and Maruyama Zoo... There's a spot filled with Cherry Blossoms and a nice place for picnics...

From Maruyama Koen subway station by walk is about 10 minutes (cuz we quite not familiar the place). Can take beautiful pictures and enjoy mini snow sliding. Have a walk to the Shrine.

We saw cherry blossoms blooming all around here on May 6, during the golden week. It was a beautiful sight! Very nice park, scenic and tranquil. A lot of people were doing picnics. There were stalls selling street foods near the Hokkaido shrine area. The weather was very cooling, like 7-8 deg. It’s about 10 mins walk from Maruyama station.

This small and cute sakura park is in the area of Hokkaido shrine. Very nice path with several kind of Sakura flowers. This park marks the end of the Sakura season of all Japan. Sayonara Sakura ceremony held here with respect. Due to the last season this park can be tricky with so many tourists or you can be lucky... More

Was there on 4th May when it was supposed to be the cherry blossom peak season in Hokkaido... but really cannot compare with Kyoto or Tokyo. Simple because the sakura tree type is different.

We went to the park around 9.30am and had hoped to enjoy a quiet walk and a hike to the summit. But, no such luck. It was Golden Week, and the place was insanely crowded by 10am. The hike to the summit took about 1-2 hours (with limited places to rest in between), and there are some steep spots on... More

Lose most of the tourists by hiking up to the top. It only takes about half an hour, but the views are great, and you don't have to share with a million other tourists!

Stroll along this Maruyama Koen during winter was truly an unforgettable experience. The snow was very thick that we hardly walk through it. And yet my children were so happy to play on the snow, sit and sleep on the fluffy snow. Making pictures was so fun as well as playing around the park.

One of the places that you may experience Hanami during spring.. there will be stalls selling local street foods such as okonomiyaki, yakisoba, grilled calamari, takoyaki, dorayaki.... and draft beers! It was a unique experience for my group of friends and i to savour the street foods and fresh beers under the sakura trees! After the Hanami experience, you can... More
