Very easy to get here by either taxi or public transportation. We caught the bus and it dropped us off right in front. The grounds are mature gardens with centuries of history. The tea shop is a great place to take a break, try the dragon tea. This ranks right next to West Lake as a must see attraction in... More

This was a hot hike on a summer day, but it's so lush and fresh with greenery and flowers in the summer! We went on a weekend, and boy, it was crowded! Both the upper trail (which is a heart-pounding climb!) and the lower springs were filled with hikers. I imagine it must be a lot less crowded on a... More

Its a bit of a hike up the hill but well worth it. Get a taxi there and ask them to come back in 2 hours. Locals are there in droves filling up water containers to make their tea from these precious waters. Try tea at the tea houses at the top in the temple. Some are outrageously priced so... More

Situated between the West Lake and the Six Harmonies Pagoda is the interesting Hupao (Tiger Running) Spring. The spring is situated in a beautiful park, which houses a sprawling buddhist temple compound. From the park entrance, it's an uphill climb to the temple and the source of the spring. There is a stream running parallel to the main path, and... More

This is the place where the spring water is said to bring out the best taste of the famed Longjing Tea. I see people bringing huge containers to collect the spring water for daily consumption. If you love peace and quiet, this is a great place to visit on a weekday or early in the morning

Hubao Spring is located in a small park with a few small lakes, a teahouse and chinese pavillions. The area is really nice, there arre beautiful sceneries a bamboo forest and a pavilion with stone carvings of arhats. Nice thing was, that there weren´t many people. The spring itself is just a small lake with weird modern tiger statue, so... More

The first time I came here with a friend, we had planned it to be an hour or so walk around a relaxing park...what we didn't realize was that if you took a turn up one of the path of stairs (surrounded by bamboo trees) after the sculpture of "Dreaming of the Tiger Spring," it would become a completely different... Not sure what percentage of first-time tourists coming to this place, but this is my first time among my three visits in the past decades. And I regretted coming late. I truly enjoyed walking on the half-mile long upslope trail to the mountain spring. Filling out my empty water bottle with the spring water. Locals lined up fetching spring water... More

Walk into a beautiful wood land, decorated with cheap plastic birds. Then walk on to the sun and moon pool, which do look beautiful, but why is the water a chemical blue colour? Up to tiger spring, Most of the small spring is covered by a giant plastic tiger!! Then to the statue of the dreaming tigers constructed in 1983,... More

This is where that legendary water comes from which can enhance a glass of Xihu Longjing 西湖龙井茶 and bring out its most subtle and stunning qualities. I've drunk it here and I've drunk it in Longjing Village up on the mountain. Exceedingly worthwhile if you are into green tea. The scenery is pretty, as is the small waterfall. But the... More
