Highly recommend for a morning run / walk when the crowd is lesser and mostly local Chinese exercise around the lake. During summer time, you may want to plan your outdoor activities earlier, and left afternoon in the museum / cafe / afternoon nap.

Walking along the Causeway, crossing the little bridge, and enjoying the scenery on the two sides, it would be better if I came at dusk or in the evening maybe. Coz it's quite hot during the day in summer.

We cycled across both causeways and it was the best thing we did in Hangzhou. It's what most people go there for, to see great views of the lake and take pictures and experience the tranquillity of the area. Highly recommended.

The best way to see the lake up close and crossing it, tons of places to make pictures and enjoy the view. Even though it was super busy because of a Chinese holiday we still enjoyed it. Start at the south pagoda and walk north.

The path is surrounded by trees and lakes. After going around in the west lake, might as well take your time to stroll here. It's a very relaxing walk. You probably also want to take a boat ride.

Su Causeway is a perfect place to walk and see scenery. There is scenery on both sides and the whole Causeway includes about 7 bridges. Ride a bike on Su Causeway but be careful!

It is a straight line connected with Beishan Road (North Mt. Rd) and Nanshan Road (South Mt. Rd), during the early summer, the morning breeze just touching my skin gently. I normally riding to either side and start jogging. Su Causway is named under the...More

You can either take a boat ride or just stroll along the Su Causeway. Either way they are both pleasant and relaxing thing to do. Photography enthusiast can snap away happily as there are plenty of opportunities on every nooks , corners and angle.....

Walk in footsteps of history and legend. A superb spot to watch the sunrise or as a slow stroll to finish your day, taking time to sit on one of the many benches and enjoy the view across to Hangzhou itself.

Linked up the north and south part of the lake, it will take up to 2 hours if you stop every 5 minutes or so either resting, taking photos or perhaps taking your time to wander along the lake area. Great stuff though! Beware of...More
