The Drum Tower of Xi’An houses the world’s largest drum as recorded in the Guinness books. Views of the city center from up above are a sight to behold. The streets surrounding the tower are very lively too. I suggest going in the evening before...More

After visiting the nearby located Bell Tower, the Drum tower was a little less impressive. The location is closer to other buildings, which makes it stand out less. The view is also not as good as on the Bell tower. Side note: I was also...More

Right next to the Muslim Quarter, the Drum and Bell towers are a must when in Xi'an. I only wish the English translations of the history were checked over by someone with a mastery of the English language. Really sad how grammatically incorrect a lot...More

Another landmark in Xi'an, walking distance from Bell Tower. It is beautiful at night when it lights up. It is right next to the street food alley. You can buy the admission & visit the museum inside.

Walked past the drip tower every day as it was on the path to our accommodation. Drum tower is a must see at night. It looks fantastic all lit up. Colours blow your mind.

I have an issue with heights so I sat ( literally) this one out. My husband went to the top ( quite high and narrow) and enjoyed the tower.

Get a combined ticket with the Bell Tower, and experience both! Beautiful painted wooden interior, and an interesting exhibition of drums through the ages and regular concerts of drums and other percussion instruments, which will give you an insight into Chinese music.

Overall it is more of a shorter visit and an add on, versus a specific destination point. Meaning this should not be a place to schedule your day around, but depending on how much time you have for your city visit you could/should add this...More

There are many beautiful views from the tower. Otherwise the tower has some interesting history on display. They also have live performances in the tower to set the mood.

I found my pic on Tripadvisor. The performance times are 9:10, 10:00, 11:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00. Be 30 minutes early as seats are very limited.
