Fabulous street to witness the civilisation who invented / used extensively the paper, the calligraphy brushes, ink and ink stones. People took a lot of pride in their craft and goods..,

This street is basically for tourists. People working at the different shops lining both sides of the street wears special clothes and prices of food is also more expensive than in the Muslim quarter. If you have time, go to the real deal.

The street is a must, but only if you have time. It is not as good as it was a few years ago. A lot of a shop selling art and tools for art.

Very vivid. Accessible, and part of your way from other sites in the area. Colors and tastes. Lots of Chinese tourists (after the culture revolution - they also seek their heritage).

The wall closes 6-7 P.m. During summer the South gate closes around 9 - 10 P.M. It is safe to walk around the tourist place in city and the wall.
