It is an interesting place with a lot of history. It presents the ancient lifestyle of people before the start of the dynasties. The excavation sites have human remains and artifacts. It is not a huge place and only takes about an hour.
The BanPo Museum provided an outstanding opportunity to look back 5000 years at a civilization that inhabited the area that now resides under the museum cover. The excavation has been carefully done and the exhibits look fresh and new. There is plenty of english subtitles....More
Really interesting slice of ancient pre-history in this Neolithic village discovered in the 1950s, and archaeologists have yet to piece it all together. (e.g. are some of the markings on carved rocks recovered in the excavation a form of proto-writing?)
This is our first experience visiting a neolithic site.
The museum curators did a good job explaining what life would have been, 6000 years ago.. It's way better than reading it in history books or watching videos.
Somehow seeing real neolithic artifacts makes the connection...More
