Resembling an elephant drinking water from the Li River with its long trunk, this hill towers more than 55 meters above the water.

Not worthy of more than a minute look. Disappointing from a western USA perspective. The combination of all limestone formations beautiful.

It is one of the large rock formations by the river, and you can walk through an attractive park afterwards. If, like most visitors to Guilin, your intention is to continue down the Li river to Yangshou, don't worry if you miss this - you'll...More

We really enjoy local sites wherever we travel and so it is rare that we are disappointed. To be honest, there are better sites in the area and we really felt it was overhyped and not terribly scenic. The entrance fees are quite steep considering...More

Other reviewers commented on the high entrance price. When we visited, we could buy tickets for 5 Guilin attractions (including reed flute cave, 7 star park) for the price of about 2. (180 Yuan I think it was.) Worth doing if you have time to...More

I do not have much impression in this place as it seems quite normal to me. Maybe I have seen much nicer landscape in Yangshou. The nearby river part is quite dirty sometimes. Yet this is still the city signature landscape

It's exactly like the photos you see of the place. Hike up the elephant, the view of the city is magnificent.

A nice surprise. It wasn't just about seeing Elephant Rock. Many families gather here along the river bank beach, quite refreshing on a hot day. Nice shops, plenty of shade or sun, great for people watching or joining in with the fun. There are also...More

Guilin is becoming very touristy Tours of everything imaginable this is certainly not worth it and you can see it from the road.

I did not go in because of the advice I received, it is expensive, 71 yuan. If you walk along the road far enough, you can get decent views of the hill. I did see one live elephant near a fence, but that was it....More
