The Elstin (Yeltsin) Museum is an outstanding history museum documenting the establishment of the Russian Federation, first open elections, and the tumultuous first decade of the Federation. Very moving exhibits on the election of Yeltsin, the battle against the re-establishment of Communism, and the collapse...More

Fascinating presentation of the Post-Soviet era in this massive memorial to the leadership of Boris Yeltsin. Among the most technically advanced museums in our travels, this was definitely worth a visit to learn more about Russian politics in the late 80s and 90s. Well laid...More

A grand claim but the technology, use of artefacts and media clips as well as excellent commentary make this possibly the best history museum we have ever visited, and we have seen a few. It's span is a mere 10 years but 10 years that...More

Was surprised how gorgeous and modern was the architectural part. Nice displays as well. Interesting presentation of the Post-Soviet era. Nicely done! Very nice surroundings as well. And gorgeous views of the city and river.

It is always fun to see the events you remember from the news having turned into history. Although it is a bit cheasy to have a museum with things a person, who only died recently, have touched, it is still interesting to see Jeltsin´s car...More

Not taking into account the fact that some complicated historical events are skipped in this exhibition (or they are presented in an abstract way), I have to admit that this museum is among the most technically advanced museums in our country. I really like how...More

I don't know why but could not find what I was looking for. Perhaps because I went with expectations. The Iset river in front impressed me more

If you are into politics or even if you are not, it gives a fascinating insight into Russia's transition into democracy around 1991. Prior to that the regime was a bit like North Korea is today. When the food ran out, it was game over....More
