Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited the park in the midst of the winter season. On a frezing Saturday morning I was at the gates of the park. I was alone in the park during my visit. It was freezing cold. But the cold weather gave a special feeling to the park. I walked and walked and took a lot of pictures.

Beautiful park to visit already now, only ca 2km from the city center. Monrepos Park is being thoroughly restored but can already be visited (the small island bridge wasn't there, but many parts of the park could already be visited). The shores and the landscape is calming and you see many different types of visitors - joggers that pass quickly and families that take time to admire the flowers. The Neptun temple has been rebuilt 1999. The sun was shining and it was relaxing to walk around and wonder how people used to walk and visit the park 100 years ago. Next time I'll bring some picnic and enjoy an even longer stay.

The park is close to the city center and it’s easy to get there on foot. Fresh air, lots of huge stones, mesmerizing landscapes.
Another positive thing is that there are massive renovation works happening in the park right now. It will look even better pretty soon.

Парк на реконструкции. Многолюдно, дорожки перекопаны или закрыты, много строительной техники. Лучше проведите время в центре Выборга.

Park is under construction, It’s crowdy in the park, some pathways are closed, a lot of construction machinery around. Better spend your time in the center of Vyborg

Everything under construction. Hopefully they get it built soon. Will be a geaorgeaus park! Nice paths and beaches. I wonder why swimming is prohibited. Not much to see yet.

This park is an absolute "must see" for tourists coming to Vyborg. You will get an exciting experience of both - historical and nature backstage. I do recommend to visit the park with a local guide as there are lots of details and stories that could be revealed only by the person who knows what to pay attention to. Welcome! And be enchanted by legends and monuments, by trees and plants, by lovely nature and sorrowful present....

You can walk here for a day and enjoy the nature. It's explored easily by wearing normal sneakers. I even saw there women wearing high heels which is doable but not comfortable and there are a lot of stones and corners where you can climb onto but they couldn't.
We came here just for 1,5 hours in the evening.
It was a nice atmosphere, we could sit down here and there on rocks and enjoy the view. We regret that we didn't take a bottle of hot tea. That would've made it a perfect little evening walk.

The park is big, clean, with ponds, bridges, tall trees. I am sure local people like to spend their free time in this park.

The best park and a must when visiting Vyborg. Main palace is still in bad condition and last year some drunken people burned old chapel, rebuilt only few years back by Finns. Monrepos, My Peace.

Are there any caves in Monrepos Park? I'm asking because an early 17th century writer wrote: "And that vast denne or hole called Esmellen in Moscovia . . . which if any thing casually fall in, makes such a roaring noise" etc. (Robert Burton, The Anatomy of Melancholy)
I think that Esmellen is near Vyborg, but I could be wrong.

Hello Nicolas!
That is an excellent example of the things/theories my buddy Alex mentioned while we filmed the entire area of Monrepos Park.
Vyborg and areas surrounding it are insanely rocky. I would be amazed if no historical caves have been found.
I am not familier with a place called Esmellen and cant go on an exploration mission right now 😅 but Park Monrepos, its islands and entire forest surrounding it (which we explored with Alex, an expert on historical fact/symbols/conspiracy theories and data) have in total zero caves to admire 😅.
Although one interesting spot we found was behind the seperated by water Post Tower island in Morepos. It seemed like a cave enteance blocked with big rocks.
(You can see that on a final episode of our serier SEARCH FOR HIDDEN ARTEFACT)
