Tried to come in this museum, not very convenient to reach due to its location far from the subway station. Checked the website for opening times and special closures - due to the time of my visit in Christmas holidays -, made a plan and finally went there. The museum was inexplicably closed. We managed to access the courtyard somehow.... More

To access the museum, you must get there at a time when it's open, and enter via a courtyard. I arrived when it opened on a Friday morning and found myself wonderfully alone with the audio guide (highly recommended). If you love the work of Rimsky-Korsakov, this small museum, where he once lived in one of the apartments, gives you a glimpse into his daily life and his surroundings. This is the only composer’s memorial museum in St Petersburg. It is located in a former rental house where Rimsky-Korsakov spent the last 15 years of his life and composed 11 of his 15 operas.
