About
On the 8th of June in 2012 the national show-museum «Grand Maket Rossiya» opened its doors hospitably for the wide auditory. By this time, thousands of citizens and quests of our city watched this unique exhibition. On the layout area of 800 square meters you will see the generalized images of cities and regions of Russia. Hundreds of moving trains and cars, sound and light effects add dynamics to the exposition and thousands of tiny figures make the genre scenes. Add the astonishing effect of day and night changing doesn`t leave a single visitors indifferent.

The museum space is well organized, there is parking, a cloakroom, places to relax, a cafe with home cooking
The Grand Layout is impressive and delightful! It’s hard to imagine how this whole composition WORKS, IT’S A MASTERPIECE of technical thought and implementation. Recently, a collection of porcelain sculptures - the peoples of Russia - appeared in the Model. Made according to museum samples, IFZ. The exhibition is included in the ticket price

    Grandiose model in St. Petersburg
We visited the Grand Model of Russia in St. Petersburg in November 2023. This exhibition complex caused conflicting feelings. It is not educational for an adult; there are no clear cities, historical buildings and their exact copies. A unique and interesting world of miniatures, made by people with an amazing sense of humor. Many thanks to the authors of the Grand Layout!

Travel around our big Motherland in a few hours)
Very cool project! In a few hours during your visit, you can “visit” the whole of Mother Russia: the volcanoes of Kamchatka, the beaches of Krasnodar, Baikal, Kaliningrad, the capital of the Motherland, etc. I recommend visiting for both adults and children. We rented binoculars - with them you can see the details. I especially recommend it to those who, like me, cannot see far away😂 Someone writes that there are inconsistencies. Yes, maybe there is, but this is the author's vision. We really liked it, thanks to the developers)

    Interesting.
A very interesting place. Great idea. Interesting both adults and children. Were on a weekday - a lot of people , but there is enough room for everyone , but with ventilation there is some problem .. in the hall is stuffy and hot .( either the conder is weak , the tones include weak ) .

for children from 6 years old, very nice place
A very detailed large mock-up of different regions of Russia, it is nice to see, a lot of minutiae and nuances, for example, you can long consider people who talk to each other, hug, meet at the train station, swear in the accident, and many even move. Children are interested in interactive buttons when you can trigger the movement of machinery, animals and even geysers. in night mode the eruption of the Kamchatka volcano looks great. In general, the cost is not small, but paid off with emotions and impressions. Recommended for family visit.

Even adults here are turning into children.
It's a great place! I've come here twice before, once with adult company, the second time with teenage children. Both went to cheers! It's an exciting place for both children and adults. You can walk along the layout for a long time, reading into witty inscriptions, noticing subtle nuances, enjoying the scale and working out the smallest details. It's cool to have night and day. Kamchatka and the erupting volcanoes are fascinating. Anyway, it's a must-see!

I was in St. Petersburg in May of this year, I decided to visit the Grand Maket Russia, which I learned about from the Internet and did not regret the time spent at all! A very interesting museum with modern and beautiful exhibits depicting real-life sights of Russia and simply unique cultural places of our country, different climatic zones, all exhibits are detailed and generally of high quality! Trains and cars move, people move, it looks like a diorama, but the technology is modern, in general, super. You can take an audio guide to listen to the history of a certain place; each attraction has its own detailed description. In general, of course, the scale of the country and, as a consequence, the scale of the layout is amazing; our country is huge and very diverse. There was a long queue at the entrance, but it’s better to buy tickets on the website, you’ll get through faster, it’s an interesting museum, I advise everyone to visit it if you’re in St. Petersburg yourself or with children or friends!

Have a nice day everyone. I was in St. Petersburg from July 17 to 28 with my husband. Couldn't miss the museum
Grand Layout. We were very impressed by what we saw in the museum. What painstaking work was done in each created exhibition. Everything is so realistic. I recommend everyone to visit this place.

Very enchanting look at the different regions of Russia. Great detail went into the buildings, bridges, etc. The facility is 800 m2 of beauty. The display even changes the lighting to simulate day and night. The transition is breath taking. It takes a small army of technicians to make the whole thing work. Working trains, moving cars on the highways, and many other moving displays make this a very relaxing way to spend a couple hours. Good for adults and kids will love it too.

The project itself is interesting. But the organization is terrible. An uncontrolled flow of people. 300 people at a time means all 300 and come in. You can't approach the layouts. There's a lot of people. No direction of travel. They come here, there's not a lot of room, they just walk. Bottom line, wind money and spoiled mood.

I have already seen several layouts, I really like them. I decided that “Grand Maket Russia” was also a must-visit. The museum is located far from the center and from the metro, in some remote work area. We personally did not encounter a queue. The ticket price is nothing like that... 780 rubles!
And then sheer disappointment. No, the layout is just wonderful! But. To the people...🤦🏻 Everyone is moving in different directions! It just turns out to be some kind of crowd. Walking up and looking at something is a real problem. And the area is very large. If you wait for each layout designer... I can’t even imagine how long it will take. From what I was able to see, I got the impression that what was mainly represented was not the main attractions of cities (as in other layouts), but working-class neighborhoods! Even resort areas with beaches, palm trees and vacationers did not brighten up the impression. It is also not possible to click on a button to launch an interactive fragment of the layout. Everyone lights up red all the time. Understanding where, what, who and in what city is also difficult. But somewhere in the center hangs a diagram.
In general, I didn’t want to stay there at all. And, frankly, it was a pity for the money spent.

Been to the Grand Layout three times since 2015. And every time I went with pleasure and got a great impression. But this year everything has changed dramatically. It feels like no one thinks about the purpose and name of the grand layout. That is, it should reflect Russia, but...
1. Letting people in without restrictions - erases everything to nothing and buys a machine to take money: it’s stuffy, you can’t approach anything and you can’t see anything.
2. The system of sculpting a manufactured model anyhow erases what the model was created for. When, for the sake of I don’t know why, Bayka ends up next to the Urals, and the Yekaterinburg station far beyond Baikal is closer to Vladivostok??? And there is a lot of this. The meaning of the layout is lost.
3. And lack of security. I already wrote about the stuffiness, but there are no evacuation plans, there are no elementary arrows - how to move and where the exit is.
I was very upset - I won’t go again, it looks like the project is slowly falling apart

I’m so glad I came here. The model of Russia is incredible. All the little details are well thought out. A lot of time and effort has been put into this and for 540 rubles it is well worth the entrance fee!

I'm a big model enthusiast and visited several such displays throughout Europe.
Until now, I regarded the Hamburg one being the best, but now, honestly the St. Pet's doesn't have a match - in one word it's amazing.
I see many people here focus this as a primary kids attraction which I can only partially agree. Kids observe this display as a toy, for me it's a piece of art.
The display is split into two huge sections (west and east Russia) in one enormous room, divided by the central passageway (marks the Europe-Asia border).
Every Russia major city with its landmarks, as well all regions are geographically displayed with millions of tiny objects. Hundreds of moving trains, cars, planes, working plants, mines, oil platforms, ski and sea resorts,....you name it, it's there. Every 15 min the room turns dark and display illuminated showing the night scene which is again amazing.
Unseen attention to details with high technology makes you stare at this in disbelief. Make sure to read the plaques showing the number of something and many interesting facts.
Grand Maket is not in the prime tourist area, but in a residential part of town with nothing else to see around, but worth every effort coming.

I brought my second granddaughter to this museum. After the Petrovskaya water area, she really asked for it. She knew she would like it. The museum was opened earlier during school holidays. We arrived at the opening. In three hours we looked at the layout. We liked it very much.

If it is not possible to visit the exhibition and a request for a refund is made, the money will not be refunded citing Federal Law No. 193-FZ of 18.07.2019, Art.52.1.
At the same time, a request for a refund was sent immediately after the purchase of tickets because they wanted to reorder for another day! This organization did not even offer to exchange tickets . In the end, we just gave away 1,800 rubles. And didn't visit the exhibition! You can go far with that attitude. Everything in life comes back, it should not be forgotten. All the best.
