Well, how can one go to Saint Petersburg, Russia and not go to the place where the ragged looking old priest was dispatched. On its own, it's a glorious palace full of ancient roots in historical significance. Combine that with some wax figures and the...More

A beautiful palace. Just imagine the family living there. Grand staircases, high ceilings, a ballet theater or opera theater, large ballrooms. We went with a group for a group dinner, it included cocktails, a performance in the theater with ballet. Then to the main ballroom...More

Quite interesting to visit. Aside from the history (Yusupov's role in the murder of Rasputin), this palace is quite different from the Royal ones. Much more modest, 'warmer'. One could almost imagine being able to live in such a place, although still too large of...More

The opulent Yusupov contains some interesting art and the rooms themselves are really impressive. Unfortunately at the moment it is undergoing quite a lot of restoration work so quite a few rooms are closed or being worked on. The route starts on the 2nd floor...More

The Palace facade was nice to see. It is not large. It is like an upscale family home. The tour guide was not very good. I expected more and got less. I would have rather take the time and go to eat or go to...More

Began our visit in Rasputin's accommodation and where he was allegedly murdered.Basement waxwork is very realistic. This was followed by entering the Palace which was somewhat overwhelming.Make sure that you visit the private theatre where productions still occur. The chairs for the audience are original hence the...More

Be sure to see the home theatre of the hostess. Remarkable to have such a large stage and hold productions.

This is one of the beautiful palaces in St.Petersburg along with Hermitage, Pavlov's and Tsarskoye selo. Belonged to Yusupov family which was richer than the Romanovs. Nice interiors show life style in older times. You can buy tickets online. Audio guides are available. Don't forget...More

Here a good guide is indispensable because much of the background information is not adequately explained. Like much the touristy St Petersburg, the ostentatious display of Russian wealth is here.

This palace seemed to be far richer in history than others. Great tableau of the conspirators and the story of Rasputin and his influence on the royal family was fascinating. Very crowded.
