A great place - inside and outside. Tons of artifacts from 16th century to modern cannons, tanks and missiles. Outside is free and can be a great walk in itself. You only need to pay in order to see the exhibits inside.

So - first thing. All the good stuff is outside, out front (tanks, SAMs, Radars, Artillery, etc) and is FREE. Have a wander around. I found inside to be pretty boring. Old guns, wars, etc and a 400-500RBL entrance fee (and all in Russian). So...More

It is all in Russian, no English writing at all. Unless you're an expert will be hard to understand. The lighting was very poor. Anyway I did enjoy it and is worth a visit as it's quite cheap.

Visited with VOYAGES JULES VERNE which didn't include either admission or the option to visit in free time. From the scale of the forecourt exhibits, it can be assumed that the museum building is worth a visit.

This museum is brilliant. Not a lot in English but you can work out what most of the exhibits are. This is also one of the few places that sells a guide book in English. Be warned you have to pay to take photos at...More

... Just bring a 14 year old boy with you! Seriously- my son LOVED this museum and excitedly told me what everything was. It's a real museum for boys, although I (middle age female) enjoyed it as well. Cannons, tanks, the biggest missile (from 1955)...More

The dozens of cannons, tanks, rocket launchers etc. on the courtyard can be accessed for free. Inside the building, the exhibition is very retro and reflects both the might and shabbiness of the Russian/Soviet army. If you like military museums, you can spend here a...More
